New Method of Installing Updates (Effective April 12, 2002)
Installing Ad-Input program updates just got easier. We have changed the
"Install PTF" program under the "File/Security "menu, so that you simply
click this option and you will be connected to our website. The PTF file
will download to your AII folder automatically. You have two choices on the
screen, "Download from Web "and "Install Downloaded Programs." You will want
to click both selections if everyone is signed off the Ad-Input System. You
can do the installation in two steps, if needed, first click the "Download
from Web," then later, run the "Install Downloaded Programs."

Old Method of Installing Updates
It is not necessary to use this option if you are using the "New Method"
described above
When you click on "Download Now," you will be asked to find the location to
save the download file (aiiupdate.ptf). The file should be downloaded to
your accounting server under the "aii" directory in a folder named "aiiptf."
Here is an example of a path where the server drive letter is "K."
K:\aii\aiiptf
Once you have downloaded the file to the correct location, sign on to
Ad-Input and apply the new programs using the "Install PTF" option. Everyone
should be out of Ad-Input, including the timesheet users when you apply the
update.
From the Ad-Input Main Menu, go to File, Security, Install PTF and run the
option. You can check to see that all the programs were applied, by using
the Windows Explorer and looking in the \aii\aiiptf folder. It should be
empty. If any programs are still there, you need to run the Install PTF
again.
